Marc Newburgh, Executive Director of Hillel of Greater Toronto is thrilled to announce that Tamara Rebick will be joining the organization in August 2015 as Senior Director, Identity, Education and Experience for the GTA.

For over 15 years, Tamara has served as an innovative educator, dedicated to designing space for Jews of all backgrounds, knowledge bases and skill sets to connect with and celebrate their Judaism.  She has engaged youth, teens and young adults in exploring and defining their Jewish identities through experience, learning and practice.  Tamara’s main area of focus has been cultivating and teaching leadership in schools and on university & college campuses, as well as training teens to be peer educators.  She is now in her 10th year serving as the Director of Student Activities, Jewish Life at TanenbaumCHAT, Wallenberg Campus. This past year, Tamara was hired to also direct the Israel Engagement agenda at TCW.

Prior to joining the team at TanenbaumCHAT, Tamara served as the Regional Director for United Synagogue Youth, Eastern Canadian Region, overseeing activities and curriculum for youth in grades 5-12.  Tamara is an alumnus of USY, Canadian Young Judaea summer camps and Camp Ramah in Canada.

Tamara’s academic studies range from a B.A (Hons) in Politics and History and an M.Ed in Adult Education & Community Development with a focus in workplace learning & change, to classes at the Conservative Yeshiva and a certificate from Yeshiva University’s Experiential Jewish Education program.

Along with Miriam Shuval, Director Operations, and Lior Cyngiser, Director Israel Engagement, Education and Advocacy, Tamara will become part of a visionary and creative senior team that will lead Hillel of Greater Toronto for years to come.
