Shabbat on Campus

We had our first Shabbat dinner on the University of Waterloo campus and it was our largest dinner yet! We chose a “green” themed Shabbat to engage two very different demographics of students; those who are in the environmental faculty, and those who were excited about St. Patrick’s Day. Combining these two groups in a “green” theme was an enormous success. This Shabbat brought out many first year students from both the University of Waterloo and Laurier. With outstanding food from Kosher Gourmet, complete with green cupcakes, it was one of our most exciting events of the semester. Students loved our recycled mini tree centre pieces on the tables and we are looking forward to continuing to build on this momentum throughout the remainder of this semester.
